New Site Launch: Solarize Northwest

Though it’s been more than a month since its official launch, I’m pleased to announce the new site for Solarize Northwest. You can read more about the project in my portfolio.

The new home page explains the Solarize Northwest process, lists current campaigns, and shows a testimonial from a previous solarize campaign participant.

Active and successful campaigns have a progress meter showing the campaigns impact!

This site was really fun to design and build! I’m happy with how it turned out, and I think it really showed how customizing WordPress can improve sites on the front and back-end, helping site editors and site visitors.

With a customized way to manage “solarizing” campaigns, site editors can easily set up new campaigns, add events to campaigns, and show their progress! When the campaign ends, a single checkbox sends it from the list of current campaigns on the home page to the page of Past Campaigns.

While not without its implementation hiccups, this was also the first time I connected a WordPress site to a customized Salesforce database. The site uses a highly customized WordPress-driven registration form and then sends the data to Salesforce for constituent management.

Congratulations to Northwest SEED for the new website that makes their Solarize Northwest project shine! ☀
