OAR Northwest’s amazing ocean rowboat team circumnavigated Vancouver Island in April 2012. Working with MRW Web Design, OAR Northwest converted their home page from a simple “Welcome” page to an exciting, interactive “Expedition Dashboard.”
With eight widgets, the new OAR Northwest home page featured live data about the boat’s progress, 12-hour weather updates submitted by University of Washington students, videos, photos, Facebook updates, and more. The website even includes an interactive 3D boat!
Though this project was not a full redesign, the website was still transformed during the expedition to welcome new visitors, teach them about the project, and draw them into the site to explore the exciting information on OAR Northwest’s website.
